Research – “Georgia State announced on its official athletic site today that it commissioned a consulting group, Collegiate Consulting, to conduct a study regarding the feasibility of a move to 1-A football. Some concert place in Virginia lifted a ban on tailgating. A media outlet reports the details, with a pretty sweet photo of some Stadium lot regulars apparently on tour.

After leading the team to one of the most successful runs in its 40-year history, Barron Collier High School football coach Mark Ivey has resigned.

Ivey is leaving to take a job at Appalachian State University in North Carolina, where he played defensive lineman before graduating in 1996.

The top two teams in the SoCon collide in Davidson today. An App State win solidifies first place. A Davidson win creates a tie for first, with three games to go. As the only remaining member from Reading’s inaugural indoor football team in 2006, Rockhold has grown into a fan favorite. Through all the changes, the 30-year-old Rockhold has remained the constant. He has played in all 100 Express games, scoring 936 points.”

Green – “Dwayne Ledford joins the staff after one season as the OL coach and run game coordinator at Gardner-Webb. Bryan Brown comes from Ole Miss, where he was a four-year letterwinner on the gridiron as well as a member of the Rebels’ basketball team. Last season, he served as a graduate assistant coach at Ole Miss.”
