my guess is 14,335 for this first round game. Come on App fans! Pack the Rock!
Comment by Brendan 11.27.09 @ 10:13 amAll the run defense numbers for SC State look pretty impressive, but……….they did not face anything like the 1-2 punch of Edwards and Moore in the backfield. Those two have been equalizers to many a defense in their careers.
If they really want to make AE beat them with his arm, then bring it on. There is not a better arm in the FCS ranks. Go with the Wofford Helloween offense and drop 50-yard bombs on their secondary.
All bets are off when you will into the THE ROCK on a cold November Saturday. SC State has a good program and I take nothing away from them. But I expect to see an all-out assault from our offense and defense tomorrow. Fast, violent, blood-thirsty and dominant.
Comment by Jamey 11.27.09 @ 10:19 amLet’s spread the ball around and keep them guessing. Cline will prove that he is one of the best SoCon receivers and B. Quick will, once again, embarrass the secondary of SC State. Look for Armanti to thread the needle all day long!
Go Apps!
Richmond 42
Elon 21
FEAR THE APPNATION!
Comment by Jamey 11.27.09 @ 10:33 amStats are Fun
X’s and 0’s are important
But it always comes down to the Jimmys and Joes
Comment by Pete 11.27.09 @ 10:36 amGo App!!! I can’t wait for this game! I m exciting!
Comment by Sean 11.27.09 @ 11:12 amThere was some Armanti-love in the Charlotte Observer today…
http://www.charlotteobserver.com/237/story/1077680.html
“QB Edwards enters ASU a leader, will leave a LEGEND”
We have been so lucky to get a chance to watch an athlete/person like AE play and to have him represent our school and football program…PACK THE ROCK this weekend!
Less than 24 hours . . . Man I wish the game was today.
Comment by AppOrange 11.27.09 @ 12:16 pmApp could very well lose this game. Cant believe they put a team that was tied with South Carolina at the half with their backup QB as a 1st round opponent for App, NCAA sucks
Comment by Champ24 11.27.09 @ 12:44 pmive changed my guess…..i’m going 12,999 or lower…we wil not hit the teens. cold as hell. economy. people think we’re going to win.
Comment by parking lot 11.27.09 @ 1:14 pmI hope we pack the stadium for what is likely to be Armanti’s last game at the Rock. Wow…what memories!
Comment by appfanmidwest 11.27.09 @ 2:37 pmParking Lot—Cold as hell??? huh?
The high will be 55 and sunny with low around 36. No excuses. Perfect game day.
Comment by appfanmidwest 11.27.09 @ 2:41 pmFor Thanksgiving weekend the weather may not be to bad. I hope the wind calms down. I am hoping the possibility of AE’s last home game may bring out a few thousand who wouldn’t have came. I just hope there isn’t completely empty sections last both games last year in the playoffs.
Please, please, PLEASE! be loud tomorrow. I will give my all so our croud does not get drown out by 2,000 fans from SCSU this year. We need to be extra loud….because they will be.
Comment by Keith 11.27.09 @ 3:02 pmmy b midwest, heard theyd seen some snow…
Comment by parking lot 11.27.09 @ 3:18 pmArmanti’s banged up but, better than last year. Moore is our first string running back and is healthy. Our only health back in this game last year was probably Jackson, our 4th stringer. We probably underestimated them last year, we know what to expect this year.
Rock on? ahahahha
Comment by clayton 11.27.09 @ 4:57 pmThis Sean guy keeps cracking me up. “He’s exciting”. Ha ha.
No turnovers APP and good Defense this will win the playoff games.
Comment by herbstreitsucks formerly grudensucks 11.27.09 @ 5:03 pmi’m feeling good about this game. i think we will be ready.
Comment by Gwaltineer 11.27.09 @ 6:07 pmThere really is no excuse for not making it to this game especially ASU students. Something I notice yesterday watching the Texas game. It was ON Thanksgiving and it was packed and there appeared to be tons of students there. There will never be a point moving up to I-A if you can’t pack the rock for a playoff game. Bottom line people need to show up to this game. I know people aren’t going to, just wanted to vent a little bit.
Comment by AppClass09 11.27.09 @ 6:22 pmClass of 09, if any students (such as me) care enough to read this message board your preachin to the converted. Front row, 25 yard line. Same seats ive been in every single other game. Im tellin everybody i know to come. (is it noon yet?)
Comment by mgood89 11.27.09 @ 7:25 pmclass09 and mgood89
i was student when this football madness bagan. but there was such a time the thanksgiving game mattered nothing. check this out, first national title year thanksgiving game (richie williams becomes socon all time leader in offense) the attendence was 6,000. close your eyes and imagine that. imagine it. and it will maybe excite you a little more if we have 15k at the game tomorrow.

Comment by parking lot 11.28.09 @ 1:58 amSo sad. Will not be able to be there today. I’ll be watching the crappy ESPNU coverage. Yell loud AppNation.
Comment by Darian 11.28.09 @ 9:44 amHow about some huge props for our AWESOME DEFENSE!!
They only allowed 6 points the entire game. Championships are won with the defense. GO ASU!!
That stunt by Mcduffie looked more like Florida state that APP State. Win or loose let’s be able to be proud of the program. National telivision and he made us look like an undiciplined bunch of first timers. That penalty gave them field position at the 45. Glad i was at the game because when I got home I played the third and fourth quarters and couldn’t keep the sound on. The announcers tore us up.
Comment by Bcoach 11.29.09 @ 11:59 amLast three games, defense has allowed a total of 30 points, average of 10 per game. Early in the season, we were saying, “If only the defense would play as well as the offense.” Lately–WCU and SCSU particularly–the “if only” statement needs to be reversed.
