Lynch fashionably cuts in

For weeks we’ve been anticipating seeing Superman in that Tampa Bay red! And when we finally find an action photo! .. wouldntyaknowit … it’s throw back day. As in, throw that away!

Our eyes!!!!!! Aggghhhh!!!!

Here’s Corey Lynch in action, near the goal line as Green Bay attempts to score. The ball bounced off Lynch and into the arms of teammate Aqib Talib, who got his fifth interception of the season. Oh and Tampa won. Yeah, shocked us too!

YAY!! I knew it would happen eventually.. And sure, the creamsicle is a little weird, but I think Corey looks GOOOOOOOD in orange :)

One game played my superman, one win for the bucs.

I think it’s fitting that Corey would appear in a throwback uniform, because he’s a throwback type player. Quality person and a heck of a player!

Comment by yosef83 11.09.09 @ 9:49 pm

i love him.

GO BUCS!!! Although I want us to go 1-15 and have a good draft position.

Comment by JohnnyBurrito 11.10.09 @ 8:53 am

I wish he was still in black and gold.

hey herbstreitsucks formerly grudensucks, nice name. I wish he was still in black in gold too, but I’ll settle on him playing for the Bucs.

And JohnnyBurrito, so glad there’s another Bucs fan on here!

TB’s creamsicle jerseys look better than Tennessee’s. And that opinion has nothing to do with Corey Lynch being on the the team.

People can say what they want about the throwbacks the Bucs wore Sun., but seeing them brought back a lot of memories. Lee Roy Selmon was a BEAST & they almost made it to the Super Bowl in those unis. I think they lost to the Rams in the NFC Championship.

Anyway, what I really liked about them was the helmet logo. If you really look at it closely, it was one of the most detailed and attractive logos the NFL has ever seen (in spite of the color scheme).

By the way, DRM, did you see the BLACK jerseys Tenn wore recently? Awful, just simply awful….

Comment by yosef83 11.10.09 @ 10:46 am

Apparently the black Tennessee jerseys were used for the same purpose as the “gold” ASU jerseys. They are being auctioned off as a fundraiser. A buddy of mine is a UT alumni and said after seeing them in black that he finally got why I was not a fan of our gold uniforms. I would be interested to know if anyone on their roster was able to get over $1,000 for their jersey like AE.

when is nike gonna brand us some jersey like the steelers….

gold pants with the black or white trim, white jersey with black or gold numbering…..

I’m just sayin…i kept hearing the steelers refered to as black and gold last night and made me curious how many more uni combo’s nike has in store for us

My first thought about the black UT jerseys was that they were emulating Campbell College (University?), 83. Then I realized few people would know Campbell’s colors, and my next thought was Halloween. Orange numerals on black jerseys were downright ugly. And the players’ names weren’t even on the back.

Comment by DRM 11.10.09 @ 11:42 am

The best thing about Tennessee’s black shirts was that they beat South Carolina.

Normally, I’m an anti-UT fan. Except when they’re playing UNC, SoCar, ND, or Florida.

hey Yosef83,
I’m thinking of getting a Bucco Bruce (the helmet logo) tattoo. Too dorky?

Comment by Tampa Bay Fan 11.10.09 @ 11:47 am

Didn’t they also go win-less one season with those uniforms?
I am glad Corey is no longer a part of a win-less team (and that the NFL has NO win-less teams this year)…I’m just sayin’.

For the record, i know you were not asking me, but i would get a Yosef tattoo way before i got a Bucco Bruce tattoo.

Comment by Geoff 11.10.09 @ 11:54 am

I guess it depends on your “fanhood”…. LOL. I have thought about getting a Yosef tattoo. I don’t know if I would get the current logo (the Gordon’s Fisherman) – which I think would look very good as a tat if the right person did it, or one of the logo when I was the mascot @ APP.

Comment by yosef83 11.10.09 @ 12:06 pm

parking lot – I think Nike markets Steelers look-alike unis for Iowa every week! LOL

Comment by yosef83 11.10.09 @ 12:10 pm

No names on the back of the UT jerseys was so they can auction them. Our gold jerseys were also nameless to comply with NCAA rules since they were being sold.

Comment by Jamey 11.10.09 @ 12:36 pm

Tampa Bay Fan – I’d forgotten that the Buc’s mascot was named Bruce. That’s cool. It reminded me of “Pat the Patriot” for Boston/New England where he’s hiking the ball. That logo was also one of the most elaborate if you really look at it up close. Way better than having Elvis as your logo like they do now… LOL.

Comment by yosef83 11.10.09 @ 12:40 pm

I think that’s the Gorton’s Fisherman… the old profile Yosef is far superior to the newer logo.

Comment by 55 11.10.09 @ 1:05 pm

Wait, 83–you mean that Patriots logo isn’t Paul Revere? Or some colonial general?

Comment by DRM 11.10.09 @ 1:30 pm

It was supposed to be, but tell me that doesn’t look like Elvis. He’s everywhere! Sorry for the attempt at humor…

Comment by yosef83 11.10.09 @ 2:21 pm

hmm I had thought about the Yosef tattoo… Maybe I’ll just get Corey Lynch’s face tattooed on my back (just kidding!)

Comment by Tampa Bay Fan 11.10.09 @ 5:01 pm

I’m going to get a Matt Cline tattoo. He’s the dadgum man.
