POSITION: Defensive lineman, starting right end.

VITALS: 6-3, 255 pounds. Junior.

CAREER STATS: 26 games played, 14 starts. 67 career tackles, 32 solo. Led App State in tackles for loss last season with 12.5, and tied for lead in sacks with 6.

BIGGEST CRUNCH: Midway through second quarter of last season’s game at Georgia Southern, sacked Antonio Henton for a loss of 14 yards.

LATE START: He didn’t begin playing football until he was a sophomore in high school.

THEN AND NOW: As a freshman weighed in at 225. Has since added 30 pounds.

ACCOLADES: First team all-SoCon last year. Also earned all-SoCon academic team recognition. Is active with local Special Olympics.

FAMILY TIES: His cousin Nick Ferguson plays with the Houston Texans.
