The LSU Appalachian State football game is now scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, LSU and governor’s office officials decided today.
The game is being moved up from 4 p.m. because of safety concerns from potential evacuations from both the New Orleans and southwestern Louisiana areas, said LSU System spokesman Charles Zewe.
There will be no pre-game activities, he said.
That would be 11 a.m. EST.
FROM USA TODAY. More details.
Gov. Bobby Jindal and LSU officials decided shortly after noon Friday to move Saturday’s scheduled 4 p.m. football game between LSU and Appalachian State to 10 a.m. because of the expected strength and path of Gustav.
“Traffic contraflow could begin through Baton Rouge as early as 6 p.m. Saturday,” Zewe said. “The storm could be major and hit south Louisiana.”
ABOUT GOASU.COM. Apparently the team is in flight to Louisiana now. And that may include most athletics staff, so no idea when goasu will be updated.
Any updates I find, they’ll be posted here.
BETTER THAN NOTHING. According to comments, the game will be on ESPN Classic.
WHAT’S ON. The current ESPN schedules for tomorrow at 11 a.m. EST.

Got to get this on TV!!!!!!!!
COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Yeah – when I saw this I wondered, will ESPN preempt the Gameday program? I hope so…
Comment by David 08.29.08 @ 1:53 pmCan anyone tell me why there is no info on GoASU.com? I mean…come on! Thanks to this site for keeping us informed.

Comment by mark 08.29.08 @ 2:08 pmIf ESPN bumps this game to ESPN Classic someone needs to be fired. They have hyped this game for 3 weeks now as a huge matchup and now you are going to put it on ESPN Classic? Is ESPN2 too booked up showing the World Series of Poker for the 32nd straight hour?
Seriously. They need to at least get us on ESPN2. I understand that they cannot knock out Gameday for this one on ESPN, but ESPN2 is their best alternative. Either way….now I am gonna be drunk by noon.
Comment by Jamey 08.29.08 @ 2:08 pmNot happy…. I was going to the Va Tech/ECU game first then out to the bar. There goes a $60 ticket!
And we just got moved to a network almost nobody has thanks ESPN.
Comment by Jesse 08.29.08 @ 2:19 pmI’ve sent in my 2 cents about the game to ESPN, maye it will make a difference.
Send your complaint to espn tv
Comment by Mitch 08.29.08 @ 2:25 pmDoes anyone know if Classic broadcasts in HD?
Comment by KillerApp 08.29.08 @ 2:37 pmthe reason why the game has been moved up is because late saturday, the interstates in b.r. will be used as evacuation routes (meaning all lanes will be used to help people leave the state)this would have caused major problems for people leaving the game, especially those catching plane flights in n.o.
Comment by justin 08.29.08 @ 2:38 pmWhat game is ESPN2 showing at 12?
Comment by Jamey 08.29.08 @ 2:50 pmWe get ESPN Classic so Syracuse and Northwestern get ESPN2 as scheduled. Nice.
Comment by Jamey 08.29.08 @ 2:53 pmOn scott van pelt’s radio show he said espn classic at 11am eastern was the new tv time and location. I think its a plus for Appalachian St to play earlier. Go Apps!!!
Comment by jamie 08.29.08 @ 3:38 pmPlease keep us posted if there is a rebroadcast on ESPN. Some of us on Charter don’t have a chance at ESPN CLASSIC or 360. Also this is a great website, thanks for keeping it so informative and up to date.
