gameblousesHate to kick a pity kitty twice in one day, but you can’t be serious. The team with three wins in two seasons and one of the worst defenses in the SoCon is going to let Wal-Mart shoppers call its plays?

Come On!

No. Seriously. Come on. Come on down and play ‘Whee is the Coach.

The Western Carolina University Athletic Department today announced an exciting new aspect to Catamount Football this season – the “Armchair Coaching Series,” sponsored by Wal-Mart. This new feature will allow local fans the opportunity to put their creative football knowledge to use by creating their own play, with the chosen scheme to be used by the WCU coaches in a game.

That’s right; the WCU coaches will actually select an offensive or defensive play submitted by fans for each home game this season.

THAT IS AN ACTUAL ‘WHEE PRESS RELEASE!! And why just home games? Don’t ya think you’re gonna need some help in Tallahassee?

What a way to celebrate an anniversa-Whee.

Now I admit to cracking wise about the Wal-Mart logo on the App State football schedule posters, but geez. We ain’t got it stamped all over our playbook.

Besides, we don’t rollback. We roll over.

Come on!

BUT WAIT. This contest is open to anyone, even AppFans! So if you can design a suitable play for the ‘Whee, gives us a sneak peek.

The Whee owes Wal-Mart something after that has been their recruiting tool since the big ol’ Wal-Mart was built in Silva.

Western Carolina fans will call plays–Phen thinks this is a good idea…

There have been times when I’ve questioned our marketing department but I’d start filling out my transfer papers if UM dipped as low as the Western Carolina Catamounts. This is from an actual WCU press release [via AppFan]: The Western……
