not gonna lie, pretty badass shirt/intimidating….didnt help that the rankings for loudest stadiums in america came out 2 weeks ago and LSU was no. 1…..michigan wasnt even top 15.

Why do they find it necessary to make a t-shirt hyping this game? App is going to give them a great game and they know it, but I doubt they’ve ever made a shirt to flex their muscle when playing a D-1AA school before. They’re supposed to beat App…I can’t wait to own one when App pulls upset #2!!!

Personally, I am more enamored with what this shirt can do to motivate our guys. The coaching staff is second to none in using something to draw our players together for a common cause. As if everyone doubting whether we can pull of another upset wasn’t enough, LSU had to create a shirt belittling our victory and calling us “the other #1″. You think one of these shirts will be hanging in the locker room before kickoff?

I’m not saying we’ll actually be intimidated, i’m saying death valley is more intimidating, and i hope we win the game, atleast give them a game…but it’s deep south, not michigan..
Christian- we make game day shirts talking about how we’re gonna wax Mars-Hill or Lenior Rhyne or Presbyterian every year..and they’re DIII, what’s the difference, they prolly make shirts for every game like we do, not hating…just stating the facts..

LSU makes shirts for every home game and most of their away games…don’t read to much into it. As Robert stated, ASU does the same thing with the likes of LR and Hars Mill.

A smart coaching staff uses this as motivation, just like they used the fact that we didnt have a chance to beat Michigan as motivation. I think every player on our team should own one, and when they get tired they should just look down at that ugly shirt for motivation! GO GET’EM Apps!

Champs vs Champs shirt has been at that sports store in the Boone Mall…Sports Fanantic…for about a month now…we stuck first cotten…black t-shirt…ASU football helmet vs. LSU helmet…date of game…go check it out

I like that shirt. When was the last time a Div. I school made t-shirts for a game against a I-AA school? I’m guessing never.

LSU respects us, which is a lot more than they’ve done for any other I-AA school. And with ESPN College GameDay coming to Baton Rouge for the game, I’d say ASU will be at the peak of their powers that weekend. Call me crazy, but I don’t think that t-shirt will get our guys pumped any more than they will be anyway.

Apple Jax…making a shirt about us is something every single school does who cares about college football. Think about app games, we make shirts for nooga, mars hill, wofford, even lsu…it’s a tradition to make gameday shirts…i doubt the socon teams get every teams gameday shirts and show them around, furman makes shirts for every game, ga southern does, elon does…etc…and just like that, i’m sure lsu does every game as well, NC State is FBS, they made gameday shirts about us…i have one…i’m just saying, every team makes shirts like these for every game…i dont really see it as a big deal…and MTNeer is right the sports store in the boone mall has had app-lsu gameday 08 shirts similar to this one for a while now…

I think the funniest thing is what the picture is titled as: “I thought Clemson was Death Valley.” As a South Carolinian who moved to Boone to go to college, and to march in the band, I hope this game goes well. A lot of people are predicting this just like Michigan. We’re David again, and this time, it’s LSU cast as Goliath. All I have to say is: “I believe in Jerry Moore.”

Really, rhog? My other alma mater, Florida State, doesn’t seem to have a shirt proclaiming how they’re going to beat down Western Carolina for their home opener.

All I’m saying is that all the combined hoopla (the shirt, ESPN, etc.) is stuff usually reserved for a huge conference match-up, an intense rivalry or a championship game, not a home opener against a I-AA school.

But, of course, we all know it’s much more than that. And so does LSU.

AppleJax, is it confirmed that ESPN’s College GameDay will be there? If so, that’s awesome!

Sorry guys–I swear to God I read somewhere that it was definite that College Gameday was going to Baton Rouge, but I Googled it and found no official confirmation. The best I could find was that our game is one of the three leading candidates, along with Illinois/Missouri and Alabama/Clemson. I’ve been to many games before ranging from ASU/Michigan…Clemson/Florida Atlantic…to Carolina/State…and most all app home games the past 7 years and they’ve all sold gameday T-shirts…no reason they wouldn’t…and as and ASU fan I would love to get rid of this I-AA title…Subdivision APPle Jax…lots of confusion

Old habits die hard with I-AA; I think it’s my (and others’) rebellion against the idiotic NCAA and their pathetic attempt to skirt the bowl/playoff issue. They changed the names but the format is EXACTLY the same.

this shirt is not made by LSU. Not created by LSU. It was created by an independent company that sells LSU and N.O. Saints merchandise. Notice they cant use any of the offical LSU logos…SO LSU didnt make a shirt to belittle ASU. But whatever, As an LSU die hard fan, I loved watching ASU play LSU a few years back and really enjoyed watching you beat UM…
I will be pulling for you for every game but one..

As mentioned earlier, there is a gameday shirt for every game no matter who the opponent. I am definetely looking forward to this game. Our program respects ASU as it should. Look forward to tailgating with ASU fans.

Little FYI, dunno what you guys do, but don’t flatter yourself thinking the shirt is being made for you. LSU makes official gameday shirts for every single game, and a lot of private companies get in the act as well. Pretty much every week be it UF or MTSU has at least one shirt with a tongue in cheek comment.

As an LSU fan I can tell you that LSU definitely respects you guys. However, we do not respect Michigan or the Big Ten based on our dismantling of Ohio State. The fact that you guys rolled into the Big House and beat UM was nothing short of amazing. However, this served to accomplish two things. It gave you guys a lot of reason to be proud but it also put teams like LSU on notice. If you think LSU is going to overlook App. State, you are either crazy or smoking something. LSU rarely loses in Death Valley and it is one of the more intimidating places to play in the whole country. You won’t have a bunch of docile Michiganites and Midwesterners cheering against you when you play LSU. You will have a bunch of crazy ass Louisianians that have been drinking for about three days leading up to the game. Not to mention that this is the first game of the year and we have been starved for some football since last winter. this does not bode well for you. To paraphrase the former USC (SoCAL) coach John McKay said about playing Death Valley, “Playing at Death Valley was like being in the Roman Coliseum and we were the Christians.”

With that being said, As many of you as possible should come to the game and experience some of the best tailgating in the whole country. You guys may get “tigah-bait”(ed) some but most LSU fans will be happy to invite you to their tailgate for some food and drink.

this is exactly why playing a D2 school shouldnt even happen…it’s a lose lose for LSU unless it’s a complete blowout….and we all know that that probably won’t happen because your team recruits better than the lower 1/3 of D1 but maintains this D2 status.
