App State is up for one award – Best Upset. And love is coming from unexpected places, like Arkansas.

What Appalachian State did to Michigan last Sept. 1 should be the hands-down winner of an ESPY award in the best upset category. Continuing the pitch for the Mountaineers mandates an embarrassing acknowledgment of the ESPN show and admitting an awareness that the host does commercials for soft-drink “stuff.”

Add this to the love from Buckeye Planet, and Coach Moore and Superman may have a need to leave their seats.

But then comes the really big question – if App State wins, will the chancellor get to keep that trophy too?
