Moore walking tall. Soon he’ll be sprinting!
ESPN mailbag steps into the debate that won’t go away. Last letter.
Those who can, teach. Go. For. The ball.
Spiders look to rebuild. Can we make it a fourth annual late date in a row?
Sagarin has SoCon No. 19. Meanwhile, App State is 153rd.
Hall of Shame. List of 17 big boys with some attendance issues.
Look who gets Butch baby this year. Getting warmer.
Speaking of which. There’s now two big boy in-state programs with defenses built by App State.
The highlight of the week. For threeeeee!
‘Whee bounce back. And down goes the undefeated.
Remember this guy? He’s healthy and hungry.
Spread QB pro career already doomed. This is for sure – he’s no Ryan Leaf! Now that guy could take a snap under center!! He was a can’t miss prospect!!

Guess who. “While he is a tweener, he has a stronger arm than expected and is quick, elusive, and fast.”
Video release on Moore award. We thought the names I-A/I-AA were retired?
Today’s wish. A battle of the ASUs!
Bungled. “They’ve got to be kicking themselves for cutting Corey Lynch.”
It’s just that easy! “Other board members talked about how the addition of football was a logical step for the rapidly growing campus and noted that fundraising at Appalachian State’s now-championship football program accelerated once the program was approved and construction started on the stadium.”
Speaking of money in college football. “NCAA statistics showed that nearly 80 percent of the 120 athletic programs that sponsor major-college football reported operating deficits in the 2007-08 school year.”
Meet the wrestling coach. Nice nod to his high school coach.
A proud alum passes. The building which houses Jones Arena bears his name.
ESPN Triangle? Really? Like ESPN Dallas? Really??
Look who Richmond got. But was he ever a practice player of the week?
Lose two teams, get one big headache. Have you seen the price of gas?
At least one Montana school plays FBSers. Hey, they might win.
APP-propre links
Hump’ed day. Ugh.
AE is interesting. Nice company there.
Who will coach against App State? We really have nothing to say on this, other than we hope he’s okay.
Some recruiting news. For what it’s worth.
Uh-oh. “The repeated inactivity of Murrell, a big contributor on special teams, remains a mystery but I’m told he and special teams coach Mike Westhoff don’t see eye to eye.”
Christmas in Boone. It was pretty awful.
More on McNeil. “Texas Tech is currently ranked second nationally in total sacks with 40 and that number ties the school’s single season record.”
‘Nooga loses two assistants. Defensive line coach goes to Marshall, defensive backs coach leaves for personal reasons.
Griz loses defensive coach. No interview for the head job, so he heads elsewhere.
Speaking of Montana. “About 1.5 million households tuned in to the Grizzlies’ FCS championship game against Villanova on Dec. 18. Montana lost 23-21 but it was the highest rated FCS championship since 1994.”
APP-propre links – AE talks NFL

AE talks future. “If the NFL sees me at a different position, I am willing to try,” Edwards said. “Hopefully, though, I can also get a chance to show what I can do at quarterback.”
A sweet Christmas wish. “Go after Appalachian State quarterback Armanti Edwards and give him a chance to run the Wildcat offense with DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart.”
The dumbest “argument” ev-ah. His number WILL be retired. Period. No debate. It’s just a matter of when.
No. 3. Fifth straight final poll App State ranked in top 5.
Start the new year off right. In case you don’t get what you really want.
A record 10,651 tickets were sold locally. That’s a lot of disappointed scalper fans of App State.
Furple goes for the Notre Dame excuse. “Furman football coach Bobby Lamb concedes that maintaining strict academic standards handicaps schools like Furman in the recruiting race against less selective schools in the Southern Conference and in the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision.”
Flyers trump Apps. “The Flyers were playing without three of their top four scorers, and their normal 11-man rotation was chopped to eight.”
More on the end of Hofstra. “A lot of guys just stayed outside, and talked, and cried. I went to my car and cried, and called my dad.”
Hatch Attack lands at Murray State. More big shoes to fill.
Is Montana next to lose coach? Hmmmm. (UPDATE – Bye-bye Griz)
APP-propre links – You can’t ask for more
“You can’t ask for much more than we have.” No, we can’t.
Moore perspective. “And the two we didn’t win, if Montana wins (Friday), we lost to the last two national champions.”
Three Walter Camp All-Americans. AE, LeGree and Mario Acitelli.
Letter in App State. It’s not all football, but there’s some in it.
Montana and App State agree. Next year’s 20-team JV championship format stinks.
Our hero goes wide right. “Anwar: Who is your favorite superhero? .. Corey: My friend got me to be a Superman guy.”
‘Nova gets its wish. What does it mean that they didn’t want App State?
Maybe this is why. “Sometimes they’re not sure if they’ve heard of Villanova football, but they’ve heard of Villanova.”
Someone speaks up for UNCC. The “jokey” writer in Charlotte gets serious.
Another school lookin’ at football. “With a student enrollment of 22,389, Kennesaw State is the third largest university in Georgia.”
SC State wins national title. Here’s a crazy idea, invite them to the SoCon!
Some cycling gold. “For the second year in a row, App State claimed the Division II team championship.”
Reminder – It’s hockey season! Here’s great salute to the App State coach. Meanwhile, where can we get a jersey?

Revenge is a dish best served cold. And it’s gonna be very cold in Richmond.
AE is a go! “One time during the game a big hole opened and I took off and it didn’t bother my knee. After that, I told the coaches I could run any time I needed to.”
The “other” big time QB. “Ward isn’t as dynamic as a runner or passer as Edwards but his success record is impressive.”
All about Acitelli. He’s so dreamy.
We don’t think this is too distracting. Then again, it sounds so familiar. Job opening? Prior to a playoff game against App? Hmmm.
The other big game Saturday night. For only one reason, of course.
Okay we’ll promote it. Coach Moore is second in the running in this contest. If you don’t mind joining an insurance emailing list, help him out.
Coach Moore wins regional coaching award. Looking at the FBS winner, nice company there.
CAA loses another football team. Now they’re down to only 24.
Why Montana lost out on FCS title game. They only bid on one year?? ONE year??
Feeling phat. Well, bears do need the poundage to survive.
Superman report from Tampa Bay. “If he continues to progress, he could be the team’s third safety next year and cost Will Allen, who is slated to be a free agent, his job.”
Details on last night’s unpleasantness. No comment. (link fixed)

All about AE. Only one more game guaranteed. /sigh
Giving voice to us all. “Are all of the quarterfinal games on 360? If so, that absolutely sucks. There’s no other way to put it. I watched Ball State every week for the last month and the crap SWAC game of the week on the U every Saturday, but games that actually have significance and meaning with higher competition get shafted to 360? Unreal.”
A special message to Spider fans. CAN YOU FEEL THE EXCITEMENT!!! CAN YOU!!! CAN YOUUU!!!! /rips couch in half, eats it
Depressing way to end a great career. We reallyreallyreally hope AE doesn’t go out this way.
Speaking of which. The DII AE done in by .. yep .. injury.
Upset makes another top 10. Can’t really argue about the three games above it.
What a dumb headline. This is why we never make bold predictions.
Confirmed – Swag done in by hype. “I put a lot of pressure on myself as far as making plays. So I kind of got caught up in all of that and I should’ve been more focused on settling down and playing Elon football.”
Here’s the problem. Anyone remember what happened to the Mohicans?
Another Big Sexy-Furple reunion. Don’t doubt him.
Postscript to a tragedy. “An autopsy found that a former Wando High School football player who died during his first preseason workout at Western Carolina suffered complications from an enlarged heart. “

Metaphor of the week. “To add to the misery was my (golf) score which continued to soar as high as the gigantic inflatable Mountaineer some App State tailgaters blew up and set up near Williamson Avenue in the town of Elon. The towering figure greeted fans entering campus Saturday morning as if to say “We’re taking over your campus.” (link fixed)
More Moore on more AE. “He played in the second half (against Elon). He actually got twisted. It wasn’t a shot. He didn’t get hit hard. He got wrapped around.”
That ‘07 Michigan team sure was bad. “A win against defending National Champion Florida in the Capital One Bowl was Michigan’s last shining moment.”
Congrats Apps! Vball team rolls into tourney!
Congrats App! SoCon’s top runner is a freshman!
Another national title. App bikers rule.
36 days. You know what we’re talking about.
One non-D1 down. Two more to go.
Football recruit. 6-4, 250.
Bball recruits. Either 6-foot-6 or less.
One of those recruits. The tall one.
Wofford beat who? Impressive.
SO! CLOSE! We need to find some tickets.
Is this really being discussed? Don’t doubt him.

Black Saturday. Pretty.
Dirty ‘Nooga gets new sound. Hope we can enjoy it later this year.
Baseball team nabs brothers. Some recruiting news.
Beware the two-headed Terrier. Wooford goes with the dual QB system.
Eagles free to fly. But they gotta win.
Big Sexy versus Big Purple. Can’t they both lose?
Trouble in Montana. Coach’s attitude wearing thin.

Coach Moore on the phone. On the Stink “I think the biggest contrast is they’re just a different offense then what they used to be .. They throw the ball more. They still play hard. They’re still Georgia Southern.”
AE No. 1. But we already knew that.
V .. is for Vitaris! “Vitaris has now made three fields goals in two consecutive games, a feat not achieved by a Mountaineer in six years.”
Quote of the day. “One, two, three — remember #%$&* Appalachian State!”
A cool new App blog. By Tommy Bowman. Nice.
It’s that time of year again. Winter’s come early.
Sentinel no more. Apparently TJ was cut.
Double or nothing. Dirty ‘Nooga really wants the big game.

Keep it warm. 4 > 1.
The Spider Steamroller. Lookin’ good, darn it!
What the heck is a Freisian Horse? Your giggle for the day. (Fighting Wren? Really?)
Wrong on so many levels. Make that two giggles.

The El Cid blog. Verrrrry nice.
Higgins talks App State. Apparently from outside his dining room.
Doin’ the bump! Ain’t nothing wrong, if you wanna do the bump .. all … game .. long!
Finally in stock. We promise. But supply limited.
They’re baaaaacccck. Echo! .. (Echo!)
Your SoCon bball television schedule. App State gets one game. And it ain’t at home. Guess where?
Superman and family. HUGS!
‘Nooga packing them in. But note, this is total attendance over three games, not average per.
Between a stink and a scared place. Can’t they both lose?
As if they didn’t drop enough games now. Writer says UVa should look for its next coach at …..
Almost that time of year. We wish we had our pair Saturday.
Stupid bad economy. Instate school dropping radio broadcasts for football.

Joking about AE. They should know by now he’s no joke.
Anniversary gifts. Every kiss begins with A.
Save a little love for Dodge. But just a little.
A look at ECU: Running backs. Lots of happy feet.

App State wins a lot, ‘Whee doesn’t. This is news?
And down he goes. We bet he still has a bruise.
For the woman you love. Find something nice.
Old news. Good luck coach.
Another Pirate transfer. From Kentucky to Greenville.
More on Dodge. We wonder if his teammates like his ring.

Holtz on App State. “I love the fact that we’re playing them.” Then can we get a rematch clause in our contract?
DP ready for PT. “Last year I didn’t have the confidence because I didn’t know anything,” he said. “Only the last couple of months, I’ve had that confidence. I know what I’m doing and that has really helped in my progression.”
Another quick Pirate preview. We can’t seem to find many App State previews anywhere.
Cycle time. Look the part.*

Upsetting the Hen House. Sounds vaguely familiar.
Scouting the Cowboys. Record setting QB, Walter Payton candidate RB.
Michelin Man looking good. “Murrell is also hoping to play a bigger role in the defense, and has shown some signs of being a solid pass rusher.”
App State steals another Coastal recruit. That makes two.
