Some baseball talk. Two bball games. And a wrestling date with an ACC foe. The biggest event is, of course, at 4:30, when Vincent’s Victors take on UNCG. Sure, it’s the top of the league versus the bottom, but look who’s repeppin’ the top of the league. The Apps have won 8 in a row, and 11 of their last 12. The men play beforehand against Wofford in the rare game which includes a team above .500, that being the Dogs at 15-11. Virginia against App State in wrestling is the nightcap. Bonus – FINALLY!
We also play ECU in lacrosse just to throw that out there.
It is nice to see the boys open up for the ladies team. Bets on ladies vs the boys if they played each other. Let’s get a former duke player to coach if McMahan won’t come back.
Down by 2 at the break. Not too bad so far
Attendance?
For us, not bad considering the blizzard outside.
Epic comeback. HCC is loud right now
2 point loss. Kevin still sucks
If we have a home double-header, does the men’s game open for the women? If not, it should.
I feel like UNCC fans from four years ago when they wanted Bobby Lutz out so badly that they wished their own team would lose. I’m there. Capel is awful. I lost a tremendous amount of respect when I watched the interviews he did with Randy Jackson. I could count the number of times he made eye-contact on one hand.
This joke has ran its course. We can support Appalachian basketball by not even showing up at the games. Oh wait, how would that be any different from what’s already taking place?
If you were there today, you wouldn’t have made that comment, Mr. Jokey, joke maker. I’ve been critical of Capel also, but today’s game was an example of the team executing when it counted and the fans showing up and getting up and involved. We feel just short, but today’s game gave me a lot of hope going forward.
Kevin still sucks.
Meanwhile, the women won their ninth straight, and are now 14-1 in SoCon, 20-3 overall.
I really hope we can keep Darcie around.
Let’s move Darcy to men’s coach
Moving Darcie to be the men’s coach is the best idea I have heard in three years.
While I appreciate Kay Yow and her fight against cancer, Kay is a fixture for NC State not Appalachian. Just goes to show that we have an NC State AD who wishes he was at NC State and not Appalachian. We have had plenty of local people to rally behind when it comes to fighting cancer like Ted Mackorell who many people remembered owned Makotos.
ASU Dad, you are a moron. It has nothing to do with NC State.. It is in support of the Kay yow foundation. Almost every women’s basketball team in the nation has a game to support it. We just so happened to pick a date where we had a double header and the men’s team WANTED to do it!
Good to see you at the game last night ASU Dad. It is a good idea despite Joe’s comment to honor locally.
Our participation is part of a national effort. It has nothing to do with NC State.

Also it did include one of our own in Valorie Whiteside.

Valerie Whiteside was a true pleasure to watch. I had no idea she was fighting breast cancer, and I had forgotten just how many school records she owns. Based purely on the record book, she and Thompson Usiyan may be the most dominant athletes in their respective sports in App history.

Thanks for that link, hapapp.
Apologies for the duplicate post. I don’t do well posting from my phone.
And I guess Coach K and the rest of the country has an NC State AD for supporting the Jimmy V Foundation…

Murray, I never said honoring locally was not a good idea. I just said ASU Dad is a moron for thinking the only reason we held this event was because Cobb is a NC State grad..
