New hotness: Salaried and pro bono.
Time to get paid!
On the surface, the Big Ten’s announcement that its officials are discussing using money from its lucrative TV contract to pay athletes to help cover living expenses on top of their scholarships may come across as a goodwill gesture and a chance to reinvest in its student-athletes.

49ers GM Trent Baalke breaks down what’s lovable about App State’s Daniel Kilgore, during a recent film session with local media. He admits Kilgore is small for a pro lineman, but his balance and strength prove he’s capable of finding a role with the team. Maybe even as a ….. center?
Though he competed in Division I-AA, Baalke noted Kilgore’s strong performance against the Florida Gators in 2010 as evidence he can perform well against top competition. . . . → Read More: “He’s a tough guy and he finishes blocks”

It’s built on the remains of the Florida Tuskers, which appeared in two UFL title games. The five-team league opens its 2011 season in September. DJ was last with the Carolina Panthers on their practice squad.

Finally, a sport in which the Blue Boys deem App State worthy, baseball! First pitch today at 2. Heels are 40-12 so, unlike in a certain other sport, they’re good with a bat. App State is 29-23, and has dropped 11 straight to UNC, last winning 11-10 in 1997. In over news, Pollard’s signed another good ‘un.
